72 – McAllister, Hilary – Vella – All memories are fond, even watering the trees out the front with tin rubbish bins for something I didnt do! SRC President in 1977 until left Form b in Sep hols – organised school social with local band including ex students Greg Pedley, Bernard Alston etc (76 or 77?). Only 1 oval when we started and built 2nd oval and tennis courst while attending – and new bus road inbetween (75?). My husband and I have been living in Toolamba for 10 years, which is about 20 mins from shepparton where we own a little service station “archer st service station” previous to that we were living 40 minutes outside of melbourne for 10 years. We have 3 children, rebecca 21 katrina 18 and genevieve 13. I am a Guide Leader at Mooroopna Junior Guides so see Numurkah Guies and sometimes know parents from school days.

Ok I’ll be the first blogger for our year at the learn to blog day at our annual reunion w/e last sunday of March. I have been back in the Goulburn Valley since 1996 after travelling through Aus. in C’van for 15 months doing distance educ with a grade 1 and grade 4 child and a 18 mth old which was fun,relaxing and a lifestyle i loved though its a wee bit confined. Housework was a breeze tho.
It’s weird after 20 yrs coming back and seeing people who haven’t left the area that don’t get so excited when you see them, they probably think I’m strange. I see Mick Gledhill and his wife Robyn Allen a fair bit, they’re boys attend(ed) Mooroopna S.C. where my girls have all gone. I went to Primary School with Michael as well and was friends with Robyn from Form 1 until we went to melb to work and even shared baby capsules with Robyn and then Jan Kelly(Dealy).
I still have contact with Angie Willis (Mitchell) and Kirsty Gough (Schofield) both of which moved to Numurkah in Form 4. Get newsy Chrissy letters from Kirsty and family photos this year of her sisters and bro and kids.
Having a Driveway service garage in Archer St. Shep i get chatting and find parents of past students a see a few bods. A few guys n girls have dropped by to say gedday,or just get fuel, good to see Daryl Richardson, Steve Carey, Geoff Heap, Diane Brown,(short one), Debbie Brown, Bernie Alston, Knoppy, Lee McNamara (8 years ago)Greg Pedley tho he didn’t know i was going to serve him and I made good friends with him in my first yr. and he was in form 4and then in same crowd in Melb, the Kilgour twins. Saw John McRae(when introduced i commented that i’d do my best to remeber names and was pretty good at same and then he said “well I was in your form at school, how good?”when I saw his son now that was John McRae!,at a Soccer presentation a few yrs ago and Gavin Hall owns jeanswest in Shep. Slim, Janine Newton around and say hi in passing. Doug Larkin used to drink in same pub at lunchtime in Melbourne inlate 70’s early 80’s he was with telstra, I was in Dept Transport for 9 yrs.
Jan (Sargent) and Gary Fisher were out at a Dookie fete thing the other week,looking no different to the old days and were saying Leonie Williams(Fisher) is having hearing problems, thoughts are with her as she learns sign and they deal with this. She along with the other 100 odd were at our year school reunion organised by Rodney Green and co in “99(i think)
Now as for school memories I can remember heaps and scare Julie (blob ) Wilkinson(Ottrey) and others so before dementia or such kicks in i”ll have to put it on here. I know i will remember a heap more people I run into later. PLEASE leave a comment if having a read, Hil.
Had I been allowed to I would have been in year list 1972.I attended Numurkah state school up to 5th form in 1970.That year we moved to Greece,where I live since.I remember a school mate and a very good friend her name was Rhonda Honey does anyone know anything about her where abouts?I am planning a trip to Aus. and would love to see her again .

Her siblings are listed as going to Officer Primary School in 1973 so maybe she started at PHS in 1973. I understand that she left PHS in 1975 to go to Numurkah. I was 3 years ahead of her at PHS.
