  1. 71 – Hendy, Pamela – Lewis – I became a primary school teacher. Have 3 boys and currently not working.

71 – Graham, Greg – – Left at the end of 1974 and started an apprenticeship (Motor Mechanic) at Murray Goulburn at Cobram. Then joined the Army for 18 years and now at BHP Yabulu in a warehouse.

71 – Jack, Christine – Dickinson – Loved School mostly sport & my friends.I remember having a Japanese Exchange Student in our class & fun things such as cross county runs & camps. Since leaving school to become a nurse I have lived & worked in Shepparton, Melbourne, Darwin, Cairns & Townsville (the last 13 years) with my husband & two daughters 19 & 22 years of age. I have been working in an inclusive Primary School with Special Needs Children for the last 15 years in Townsville & I love it!

71 – Hopkins, Bronwyn – Atkins – Child and Family Health Nurse. Numurkah High School was a great springboard into life. After school, I became a Registered Nurse. Went to University. Worked in Victoria, NSW and Queensland. Married with no kids. Work in a rural town in Community Health as a Child Family Health Nurse, like my mother (she is 85 years old).

  2. Wow! This list of names has brought back some amazing memories. I loved my time at Numurkah. I left at the beginning of 1974 to travel to the United States as an exchange student. Return to Monbulk in the Dandenong Ranges and finished school at Ferntree Gully Tech and Swinburne Technical College. Joined the Air Force and spent three years in Toowoomba in Queensland, followed by two years in Melbourne, then three years in Malaysia before returning to Canberra in 1986. Left the Air Force at the end of 1987 to dabble in private enterprise for a couple of years before joinging the Australian Public Service. Worked for ComSuper for 10 years before joining the Dept of Veterans’ Affairs where I have worked for 10 years now. Married in 1989, no children. Still living in Canberra. if anyone from my class is passing through Canberra and is interested in catching up, please contact me. I’m in the phone book.

  3. Doesn’t that list take you back. I left at the end of ’75 to a printing apprenticeship in Shepparton, then spent 4 years dairyfarming locally. Have been in Bendigo since mid ’86 in newspapers, worked throughout production, computer management, advertising sales and finished as General Manager at the Bendigo Weekly in March 2009 to take six months off (bushwalking). Back into the workforce now as business manager at St. Luke’s Innovative Resources (publishing). Got hooked on bushwalking at Wilsons Prom and then did the Kokoda Trail in 2007. Married Helen Payne from Strathmerton and we have three grown sons.

  4. Hi everyone, I went to Numurkah High School from Form 1 to Form 3 1971 – 1974. My good friends were Julie Watkins, Dawn Darcy and Margaret Van Grinsvan. I haven’t seen any of them for over 20 years and they don’t appear on facebook. A real shame it would be good to get in touch. I now live in the Dandenongs, up in the hills, with 3 grown children.

  5. Hi again everyone. It’s been five years since my last post, and sadly no-one has been in touch during that time. 🙁 Does the class ever hold a re-union? It would be great to catch up with my old classmates. Still in Canberra, but moving to Albury next year, so will be closer to Numurkah.

  6. Hi Wayne, might I suggest you do a Facebook stalk, using the names on the list on this blog, and see how many you come up with. I am sure that once you get the ball rolling, you will find interest in a reunion!??

  7. hey i m looking for Madeline Ivanka Odar
Just found a letter to her father from my grandfather – they fought together in ww2 and now i am curious 😉

  8. Hi all, is anyone thinking of organising a reunion soon for those of us from the 1971 group? I would love to have a big catch up again like the one 10 years ago.
    Regards,
    Christine Dickinson (nee ‘Jack’)

  9. Hi Christine
I would love to attend a Class of ’71 (beginning year) reunion if one is held. Moving to live in Wodonga the week before Christmas, so will be much closer to Numurkah and able to attend a reunion if it is held. Would love to catc up with everyone from my 1972 class. 🙂
    Regards
    Wayne Delahoy
