57 – Mackay, Peter – – When I escaped NHS I worked as a TV & refrigeration mechanic. Started Mackay Refrigeration 1965 at tha age of 19. Now own/ operate Ozefridge Industries in SA & the Phlippines. Married several times and acumulated 7 kids along the way. Enjoy travel, exploring and fossicking. Was priveledged to visit Mr Sydney (Sammy!)Gooding last year.. Many memories of this great ex NHS teacher.
57 – Janetzki, John – – Qualified as a CPA. Travelled overseas. Married – 3 children, 3 grandchildren. Long career with Amcor Limited. Semi retired 2005.
57 – Hyde, John – – As a student I was present at the official opening of the school in 1957. Joined the Education Dept in 1963 as Secondary Teacher. Taught at Donald HS, Kynton HS, Seymour HS, Shepparton HS and Wanganui Park SC. Retired end of 2000.
57 – Sutherland, Grant – – Many memories. Being told by Headmaster WC Head in 4th year that if I did not stop wearing shorts to school my priveledges would be cut off. Teacher Lee Hammer, on my arguing with him about a science fact expostulated “You don’t have to believe it; you only have to know it.” As you may see from my details below (which seem to have lost formatting) I became a professional scientist and this has stood me in good stead.
57 – Hooper, Marcelle – Wallis – I was a teacher until my retirement in 1999.
57 – Guthrie, Dorothy – McGuinness – School Teacher. Married 40 years February 2008. 2 mature sons. Grandmother to be in May 07. Office Worker now
57 – Vodden, Patricia – – I have lived and worked in nearly every state in Australia and overseas for a number of years. I am a small business owner and sell antiquarian cookery books on the internet now, as well as a practising Clinical Psychologist.
57 – Crothers, Gerrard – – Gerrard Crothers and his wife Janice wish to notify you they are unable to attend the reunion as it clashes with Rotary District 9790 Conference at Bright, we are both attending as we are both Rotarians and Paul Harris Fellows of the Benalla Club, Gerrard a Past President, also the Benalla Festival is on. We would like to have an OFFICIAL APOLOGY registered and wish you and your committee a successful and a great weekend. Gerrard attended the Numurkah High School from the mid 1950’s and over the years while attending school represented Numurkah in athletics and held a number of school and region records. Have a great weekend am disappointed unable to attend through our other committments.
57 – Ralston, Marcia – Maycock – At the time the school had great facilities, as it was my first year. My future husband’s business partner was Mr Hart’s son (what a small world)
57 – Watt, Fay – Hawkins – Bank career at Katamatitie & Sheppartong. Married 1965, 2 children (1 of each), both parents deceased (Harry A & Grace F Watt). My sister Yvonne deceased. Havined lived in MacLeod since 1966.
57 – Carmichael, Allan – – Days of learning academic subjects from committed, enthusiastic staff- but complemented by broader learning in sport, SRC and community ventures. For example, who could forget the musical and theatrical extravaganzas led by Messrs Haugh, Moore and Thomas, among others. Post NHS…..Melb & Monash Unis MBBS MD. Married to Beryl-Yarrawonga HS, Melb Uni- Teacher/Counsellor. 2 children Heather & Glenn. 20 years Paediatrics Royal Childrens Hospital Melb – JRMO -Dep CE. 1992 Prof of Paediatrics and Child Health. 1997 Head, School of Medicine & Dean, Faculty of Health Science University Of Tasmania
